It was out with the old and in with the new earlier this week in Livonia as DTE crews installed a new utility pole and equipped it with a new transformer in a neighborhood next to Shelden ParkUnder a sunny, blue sky with a light blanket of snow from the night before, our team successfully transferred the equipment from the old pole while setting the much sturdier and taller cable pole a few feet away. You can see in the photos below our team taking down the old transformer and preparing the new one on the ground in the backyard of a home on Loveland St. No service was lost prior to or during this project, which another measure we are taking to improve your electric reliability.

You may see more of our crews in the coming months as part of our accelerated electric reliability projects in your area, including more tree trimming and infrastructure updates. All these projects are underway to improve your service and reliability for the short- and long-term.

Make sure to regularly check the Livonia community page to learn more about what’s going on in your neighborhood. You can also follow DTE on Facebook and Twitter for even more updates and information.
