Who we are
The DTE Energy Foundation supports initiatives focused on arts and culture, community transformation, economic progress, career development, environment and human needs with the goal of providing hope and inspiration to nonprofits making a difference in their communities. The Foundation is committed to a diverse, inclusive, and equitable environment where all board members, and staff feel respected and valued regardless of gender, age, race, ethnicity, national origin, sexual orientation or identity, disability, education, or any other bias.
DTE Foundation grant applications are accepted by invitation-only, directly in correlation with our schedule: Q1 – Education & Employment, Q2 – Community Transformation/Economic Progress, Q3 – Human Needs/Arts & Culture, Q4 Environment.
Arts & Culture
Drive vibrant communities by focusing on artistic works that reflect the voices and lens of the community, support inclusivity and provide broader opportunities to engage with the arts. Funding will be prioritized, but not limited to, organizations and/or programs that focus on arts education, cultural representation and access to the arts.
Human Needs
Support equitable programming centered around fundamental human needs. Funding is prioritized but not limited to organizations and/or programs that address food security, homelessness and essential support services to underserved populations.
Community Transformation
Transforming underserved and disinvested communities by enhancing safety, expanding positive opportunities, and providing supportive services for youth and families. Funding will be prioritized, but not limited to, organizations and initiatives that focus on placemaking, positive family development and community-driven solutions.
Economic Progress
Promote inclusive, sustainable and charitable economic growth and mobility for underserved populations and deteriorated economies. Funding will be prioritized, but not limited to, organizations or initiatives that focus on charitable community development, pathways to economic mobility and small business resiliency.
Education & Employment
Provide equitable access to career development opportunities for underserved youth and adults. Funding will be prioritized but not limited to organizations and/or programs in the readiness, awareness and access areas.
Environment
Support equitable programs focused on environmental conservation, restoration and environmental leadership that provide significant and direct impact on the environment for the benefit of the public. Funding is prioritized but not limited to, organizations and/or programs that demonstrate their commitment to underserved and environmentally overburdened populations.
