Part of our investment in a more reliable grid includes taking wires that were previously overhead, routing them to transformers and converting them to underground. Once those jobs are completed, crews come back to strip poles of wiring, old equipment, and remove the old poles. Jobs such as this improve reliability for residents and businesses in the service area as extreme weather season approaches. As a part of our four-part plan to build a better grid, we are hardening and strengthening our existing infrastructure. We are also adding smart technologies such as newer transformers to automate processes, reduce outages and increase the speed of storm restorations.
You may see more of our crews in the coming months as part of our accelerated electric reliability projects in your area, including more tree trimming, maintenance, and infrastructure updates. All these projects are underway to improve your service and reliability in the short and long term.
