Good news Oak Park residents: tree trim crews are busy working to improve your reliability. Recently, they were out in Huntington Woods, near Ludlow Avenue and Coolidge Highway, trimming trees back from a circuit that powers Oak Park. This type of work greatly reduces the chance of power disruptions when inclement weather occurs.
In late 2021, DTE made a $90 million investment to accelerate tree trimming efforts across the communities it serves to help prevent outages during heavy storms. You can read more about that initiative here. Highlights include:
- Accelerating tree trimming work for the communities hardest hit by storms last fall
- Increasing our tree trim workforce by 30%
- Trimming 5,700 miles of trees near power lines — more than the distance from Detroit to Hawaii — in the last year alone
If trees are creating a safety hazard near your home, please report it to DTE here. We prioritize safety concerns based on the severity of the hazard.
