DTE Energy is committed to providing customers with the power they need and the reliability they deserve. To work toward this, we’re implementing a four-point plan to improve safety and reliability for our customers. The plan includes trimming trees, rebuilding older sections of the grid, accelerating our transition to a smart grid and upgrading existing infrastructure.

Crews recently were in Dearborn  replacing several poles and transformers that power local homes and businesses.  This is a key step in modernizing and upgrading our existing infrastructure.

While performing these upgrades, we used a diesel generator to keep the power on for the surrounding community while the upgrades were taking place. This generator ensured that customers had minimal disruptions to their daily lives as crews completed these jobs. You may see generators like this in your area as we continue to strengthen our grid in Wayne County and throughout our service area.
