West Bloomfield customers will be happy to learn that tree trim crews have been busy working to improve reliability in their area. One of the places was in a neighborhood near the corner of West Maple and Inkster. This work is intended to strengthen the grid for customers in West Bloomfield and neighboring Bloomfield Hills across Inkster Road.

DID YOU KNOW: Overgrown branches account for 50% of the time our customers spend without power. DTE invested an additional $90 million toward tree trimming last year, following last year’s historic storms that resulted in outages for our customers. This investment is in addition to the $190 million we currently spend on tree trimming annually. Read more about our tree trimming initiative here.

You may see more of our crews in the coming months as part of our accelerated electric reliability projects in your area, including more tree trimming and infrastructure updates. All these projects are underway to improve your service and reliability for the short and long term.

Make sure to regularly check the West Bloomfield community page to learn more about what’s going on in your neighborhood. You can also follow DTE on Facebook and Twitter for even more updates and information.
