MIGreenPower, DTE’s voluntary renewable energy program, is growing to meet customer demand for clean energy – this time with a new wind-only offering. MIGreenPower Wind is our most affordable option for customers who want to participate in DTE’s renewable energy projects; some customers can enroll in this new program for less than a $1 per month!
DTE Electric customers can enroll in MIGreenPower Wind at migreenpower.com or by calling 1.855.613.4445. This program is sourced by DTE’s Pinnebog Wind Park, which is located in Michigan’s Thumb region. Pinnebog Wind Park’s 30 turbines generate enough clean energy to power the equivalent of 24,000 homes annually.
Like all of DTE’s MIGreenPower programs, pricing includes a subscription rate of 7.2 cents per kilowatt-hour (kWh) that will remain the same for the life of the program, and a credit based on the value of energy and capacity for traditional generation sources in proportion to the customer’s subscription level. In 2020, the net participation cost for MIGreenPower Wind customers is 2.3 cents per kWh.
“This is the first of many new MIGreenPower programs we’re developing,” said Brian Calka, director of Renewable Solutions at DTE Energy. “Over the next couple of years, we plan on introducing a wide variety of options to help our customers’ unique needs to meet their clean energy aspirations and sustainability goals.”
