DTE crews and tree trimming crews were dispatched to Gross Pointe Woods, near Norwood Drive and Jackson Avenue, after a resident reported an overhead safety hazard. In the photo below, you can see how a primary line made contact with a tree and left a large burn on the bark. First, DTE crews deenergized and grounded the power line. This is a necessary safety measure that ensures the safety of our tree trimmers. Then, arborists used a backyard bucket truck to cut down the tree below the burn mark, removing the safety hazard. DTE crews then restored the power line back to normal working order. Our linemen and tree trimmers regularly work together to help keep power reliably and safely flowing in your community.
