There are many places where you might see our DTE Energy teams at work.
From installing new and upgraded equipment as part of our Gas Renewal Program in your neighborhoods, to inspecting and installing meters and inspecting for suspected gas leaks, our team members are working hard and safely in the field every day.
One thing you might not see as easily involves our many natural gas service stations located across Michigan.
When you think about “gas stations,” it likely means going to get gasoline to power your vehicle. In that case, you make a trip to the gas station to “fill up” the tank.
It works the other way around for natural gas.
Our service stations are strategically located in southeast Michigan and in greater Michigan to reliably bring our service and all the resources behind it right to you. Instead of filling up, DTE service station crews are dedicated to keeping natural gas flowing directly to you and all our customers 24/7/365!
DTE has five natural gas service stations located in southeast Michigan, with another fourteen stations spread around the counties of west Michigan, northern Michigan and areas of the Upper Peninsula.
But it does not stop there.
DTE also has a Gas Renewal Program center, two construction locations, two gas compressor stations, and a handful of satellite stations for gas transmission. We also have a gas training center. And there are DTE Gas “locator” teams based at our stations, dedicated to marking our underground gas utility lines as part of the MISS DIG 811 program. That helps keep any digging and excavation projects safe for our customers.

While you may never set foot in one of these facilities, we have thousands of team members who call these stations their “home base” and they are strategically located for maximum efficiency, providing safe and quick service to all the communities we serve and our 1.3 million natural gas customers.
So, the next time you see DTE Gas working in your area, remember that they are part of the fabric of your community — based near your home and raising their families alongside you and your neighbors, volunteering, coaching kid’s sports teams and more, as they proudly serve you.
