Mayor Tammy Gilroy of Williamston has been a proud partner with DTE Energy for over a decade, ensuring that residents have reliable energy and peace of mind. When a tornado touched down in Williamston in 2023, this partnership was proven strong once again as DTE crews went to work to repair the damage caused by the severe weather – restoring 100% of power lost in less than 48 hours.

“I reached out to DTE directly when the tornado hit Williamston. Our care facilities were running on generators. We had lives at risk,” Mayor Gilroy said. “DTE showed up and got the job done quickly. I know I can count on DTE. That’s the kind of partnership you want when the stakes are high.”

DTE is working closely with the community of Williamston as it looks to the future. The city has vacant land ready for development. “Thanks to DTE, Williamston is prepared for whatever challenges lie ahead,” Mayor Gilroy said. “Whether it’s getting the lights back on after severe weather or making sure our lines are clear from branches, I’m grateful DTE helps us make it all possible.”
