Recently, DTE crews responded to a power outage in Detroit near Rivard and Watson Streets. In these situations, our main priority is getting Detroiters’ electricity restored as soon as possible. Within 16 hours, our team had safely restored power to all affected buildings. Then the crew located the cause of the outage, which was due to a faulty underground cable. In the image above, you can see crews preparing the worksite where they will repair that part of the grid. In the future, our team will return to upgrade underground equipment, helping keep power more reliable for Detroiters.
You may see more of our crews in the coming months as part of our accelerated electric reliability projects in your area, including more tree trimming and infrastructure updates. All these projects are underway to improve your service and reliability for the short and long term.
