DTE’s four-point plan is focused on providing safe and reliable energy to our customers by tree trimming, upgrading and rebuilding our existing infrastructure, and implementing technology to reduce outages. As part of the updating of existing infrastructure pillar of the plan, crews were in the Marion Crescent Street and Deborah Street area of Redford replacing power poles Redford has some of the oldest infrastructure in our service territory and setting new poles will help to prevent future outages during extreme weather events. These new poles will also support new pole-top equipment such as transformers and cross arms that increase the circuit’s capacity.

Over the past five years, we’ve invested over $5 billion into upgrading our grid, including some of our most challenged circuits where we have focused this ongoing maintenance work. And, in the next five years, we intend to increase that investment to $9 billion.
