DTE crews were out in Detroit’s Cultural Center Historic District, near Woodward and West Warren Avenues, working to stay ahead of the energy consumption curve. Our team determined that an existing cable is no longer qualified for the amperage use of Detroiters today. What is amperage? It’s the strength of an electric current. To replace this cable without power disruptions, our team (pictured above) switched nearby homes and businesses to a secondary power source. Soon, they will return to install an upgraded cable equipped to handle today’s rising amperage needs, ensuring power continues safely and reliably flowing for years to come.
You may see more of our crews in the coming months as part of our accelerated electric reliability projects in your area, including more tree trimming and infrastructure updates. All these projects are underway to improve your service and reliability for the short and long term.
