Southeast Michigan
Campus Martius Ice Rink – What’s a nice and fun winter without a little ice skating? Head over to Campus Martius this winter to experience the premier outdoor ice skating rink in Michigan! The rink is perfect for a fun family outing or a nice, romantic evening. The Campus Martius Ice Rink is open from now until March 3, with hours varying depending on the day.
Bowers School Farm Winter Park – Bowers School Farm is back for another year of their lively winter park. The park allows visitors to enjoy tubing on their synthetic surface that’s open no matter the weather. After you go tubing stop by their Farm Kitchen and Store for some grilled cheese sandwiches and donuts and wash it all down with some delicious hot cocoa. The Bowers School Farm Winter Park is open from Jan. 5 to Feb. 25.
West Michigan
Zehnder’s Snow Fest – Zehnder’s Snow Fest is one of the biggest ice sculpting events not just in Michigan but the entire country! At this winter event in Frankenmuth, you will see jaw-dropping ice and snow sculptures, in addition to a petting zoo, numerous activities for children and even a fireworks show. The Zehnder’s Snow Fest will run from Jan. 24th to the 28th, and you won’t want to miss it!
World of Winter – The World of Winter event in Grand Rapids is the United States largest winter festival, and it’s earned that title through its various winter activities that bring together the whole community. With over 100 free events and outdoor activities from January through March, the World of Winter is fun for people of all ages! Be sure to check out the calendar and stop by multiple times throughout its run.
Pure Ludington Brrrewfest – Most people attempt to avoid being outside during the winter months, but at the Pure Ludington Brrrewfest, you’re encouraged to face the cold with a drink in your hand! This festival in Luddington offers visitors the opportunity to taste many different beers, wines, ciders and meads from breweries all across Michigan. The festival is on Jan. 27 and tickets can be purchased online for $35/person.
Northern Michigan
Top Notch Tube Park at Boyne Mountain Resort – Looking for a fun family activity that embraces the Michigan Winter? Head over to Top Notch Tube Park at the Boyne Mountain Resort to enjoy some tubing that is fun for kids and kids at heart! This amusing activity is designed for safety, so even children 5 and up can enjoy it.
Downtown Petoskey Trick-or-Treat– If you’re someone who likes to use the Michigan weather as a time for skiing, then Nub’s Nob Ski Area and Resort is the place for you! Enjoy 53 ski runs at this amazing resort, all while staying at one of the various hotels, lodges and condominiums within 15 miles of Nub’s Nob
