DTE crews were at work in Inkster this week taking down an old transformer bank at the corner of Trowbridge St. and Beech Daly near Inkster City Hall. A transformer bank is a collection of equipment that changes the level of power voltage flowing through the grid, decreasing the high-voltage energy to a level that is suitable for use by a home or business. Three new transformers were installed recently and this crew was working to remove the old transformers and haul away the old utility poleYou can see in the pictures our team safely removing the old equipment. This new power bank should improve the power quality and reliability for this community for the foreseeable future.

You may see more of our crews in the coming months as part of our accelerated electric reliability projects in your area, including more tree trimming and infrastructure updates. All these projects are underway to improve your service and reliability for the short- and long-term.

Make sure to regularly check the Inkster community page to learn more about what’s going on in your neighborhood. You can also follow DTE on Facebook and Twitter for even more updates and information.
