DTE crews were out in Detroit on John R and East Ferry Streets and installed a new underground cable that will feed nearby homes and businesses. This addition spreads out the electric load, minimizing the chance of power disruptions caused by an overloaded circuit. If there is an issue with the circuit’s primary source, this update also allows DTE to switch the service over to an alternate source, keeping power reliably flowing for Detroiters.

You may see more of our crews in the coming months as part of our accelerated electric reliability projects in your area, including more tree trimming and infrastructure updates. All these projects are underway to improve your service and reliability for the short- and long-term.

Make sure to regularly check the Detroit – District 6 community page to learn more about what’s going on in your neighborhood. You can also follow DTE on Facebook and Twitter for even more updates and information.
