DTE overhead crews were working in the Bloomfield area this week, including a Bloomfield Township neighborhood near Island Lake. One new utility pole was installed and another was replaced on Echo Road just south of West Long Lake Road. Our team safely partnered with traffic control to efficiently complete this work without having to deenergize any power for nearby customers. This work upgraded the transformer, cross arms (from wooden to fiberglass), connectors, fuses, and cabling on both poles. Jobs like this are part of DTE’s efforts to improve our grid, and customers in this neighborhood should benefit from these reliability upgrades.

You may see more of our crews in the coming months as part of our accelerated electric reliability projects in your area, including more tree trimming and infrastructure updates. All these projects are underway to improve your service and reliability for the short and long term.

Make sure to regularly check the Bloomfield Hills community page to learn more about what’s going on in your neighborhood. You can also follow DTE on Facebook and Twitter for even more updates and information.
