DTE is incredibly proud that Crain’s Detroit Business chose not one, but two of our outstanding leaders as a Crain’s Notable Leaders in Sustainability honoree.
Knox Cameron, director, Renewable Solutions, has been with our company for more than 15 years in various roles. He now leads our voluntary renewable energy program, MIGreenPower, which Knox helped grow to be the number one green tariff program in the country. His leadership has resulted in MIGreenPower enrollments from nearly 100,000 residential customers and more than 1,700 businesses – including Ford Motor Company and Stellantis, with whom Knox helped secure the two largest renewable energy transactions through a utility in U.S. history.
“I’m honored to be selected as a Notable Leader in Sustainability; but even more so, I’m proud to lead such a passionate, hardworking team, whose dedication has driven us to unprecedented achievements within the MIGreenPower program,” said Knox. “I’m excited for the future of renewable energy and the solutions my team will continue to provide our customers for generations to come.”
Christy Clark, director, Sustainability and Compliance, has built a career making Michigan more sustainable. A lifelong champion of environmental causes, she joined DTE in 2011 and has been a key component in much of the environmental and sustainability efforts across every level of the business.
Christy has championed an increased focus on recycling to reduce waste, finding ways for things that once went to landfills or incinerators to be used elsewhere. She has also been a key part of DTE’s work with the Detroit Tree Equity Partnership, a pilot program that is working to plant 75,000 trees in targeted areas of the city over the next five years while also creating a jobs program to train returning citizens and others in need in the skill of urban forestry.
“It’s such an honor to be selected as a Notable Leader in Sustainability and bring much deserved recognition to the great work DTE is doing for the environment,” said Christy. “I’m grateful and proud of the excellent work our talented environmental teams and business units are doing to protect and enhance our natural resources. Their innovative thinking and passion are an inspiration. I can’t wait to see all we can achieve!”
