A new week means another week of improving electrical reliability in West Bloomfield with continued tree trimming. DTE tree trim crews continue to power through West Bloomfield neighborhoods, clearing overgrown branches off mainlines. The job pictured below was near the corner of Middlebelt & Briarcliff Knoll. This work will improve reliability for thousands of customers that live in these areas the next time extreme weather arrives.
50% of the time our customers spend without power is due to trees and branches coming in contact with our equipment. This data and the historically stormy summer of 2021 is why DTE made a $90 million investment to accelerate tree trimming efforts across the communities we serve. You can read more about that initiative here.
You may see more of our crews in the coming months as part of our accelerated electric reliability projects in your area, including more tree trimming and infrastructure updates. All these projects are underway to improve your service and reliability for the short and long term.
Make sure to regularly check the West Bloomfield community page to learn more about what’s going on in your neighborhood. You can also follow DTE on Facebook and Twitter for even more updates and information.
