How do trees impact power reliability during inclement weather? Heavy storms can cause branches to get tangled up with overhead power lines, creating electrical disruptions. Tree trimmers are essential to improving our services and your reliability. Recently, our team worked in Detroit’s Brightmoor neighborhood, near Rockdale and Lyndon Streets, trimming branches that had grown dangerously close to DTE electric infrastructure. Next time inclement weather strikes, this work will help keep power flowing for Brightmoor residents.
In late 2021, DTE made a $90 million investment to accelerate tree trimming efforts across the communities it serves, helping prevent outages during heavy storms. You can read more about that initiative here.
