In the spirit of Autumn, you won’t “be-leaf” how important tree trimmers are in DTE’s pursuit of improving your reliability. Their work prevents tree limbs from getting tangled in overhead wires, and in turn helps prevent power outages. Recently, our team performed this work near Ramsey Park, located at Longacre and Ray Monnier Street. It is another step towards creating a brighter future for Detroiters.

In late 2021, DTE made a $90 million investment to accelerate tree trimming efforts across the communities it serves, helping prevent outages during heavy storms.

Highlights include:

  • Accelerating tree trimming work for communities hardest hit by storms last fall
  • Increasing our tree trim workforce by 30%
  • Trimming 5,700 miles of trees near power lines — more than the distance from Detroit to Hawaii — in the last year alone

If trees are creating a safety hazard near your home, please report it to DTE here. We prioritize safety concerns based on the severity of the hazard.
