Tree trimmers were recently in Detroit’s Grandmont-Rosedale neighborhood working in the backyard of a home near Abington and Lyndon Avenues. Our team is pictured above, cleaning up their work site after trimming back branches that have grown dangerously close to overhead lines. This prevents branches from interfering with DTE wires during storms, improving reliability for the community.
All throughout this year, we have increased our tree trimming efforts dramatically across our service territory as part of a $90 million investment to accelerate tree trimming.
Highlights include:
- Accelerating tree trimming work for communities hardest hit by storms last fall
- Increasing our tree trim workforce by 30%
- Trimming 5,700 miles of trees near power lines — more than the distance from Detroit to Hawaii — in the last year alone
If trees are creating a safety hazard near your home, please report it to DTE here. We prioritize safety concerns based on the severity of the hazard.
