We have good news Oak Park residents. Tree trimming crews are working to improve reliability in your neighborhood. Our team recently scaled multiple trees in the backyard of a home near Condon Street and Oak Park Boulevard. They safely removed unruly branches that may interfere with overhead power lines during storms, helping keep power safely and reliably flowing for years to come.

In late 2021, DTE made a $90 million investment to accelerate tree trimming efforts across the communities it serves to help prevent outages during heavy storms. Highlights include:

  • Accelerating tree trimming work for the communities hardest hit by storms last fall
  • Increasing our tree trim workforce by 30%
  • Trimming 5,700 miles of trees near power lines — more than the distance from Detroit to Hawaii — in the last year alone

If trees are creating a safety hazard near your home, please report it to DTE here. We prioritize safety concerns based on the severity of the hazard.
