Tree trimmers were recently hard at work in Oak Park near Moritz Street and Oak Park Boulevard. In the photo above, you can see our team carrying overgrown branches previously trimmed back from overhead power lines. Tree maintenance reduces the frequency of outages during storms, improving reliability for the community.

In late 2021, DTE made a $90 million investment to accelerate tree trimming efforts across the communities it serves, helping prevent outages during heavy storms. Y

Highlights include:

  • Accelerating tree trimming work for communities hardest hit by storms last fall
  • Increasing our tree trim workforce by 30%
  • Trimming 5,700 miles of trees near power lines — more than the distance from Detroit to Hawaii — in the last year alone

If trees are creating a safety hazard near your home, please report it to DTE here. We prioritize safety concerns based on the severity of the hazard.
