The Saline Area Chamber of Commerce has named DTE Energy the “Large Business of the Year” Award winner in its 2023 Business Awards.

Nominations were gathered and honorees were selected by a panel of community leaders representing a cross-section of the Saline area. These annual awards are the most widely respected and prestigious recognition of businesses in the greater Saline area. The program aims to recognize and honor successful companies that have exhibited exemplary business practices, have an excellent reputation for quality and service, and are strong community participants.

On Wednesday, July 12, the Saline Area Chamber of Commerce presented DTE team members with the honor at the award ceremony dinner. Accepting on behalf of DTE was Tony Tomczak, vice president of Electric Sales & Marketing

“This award is a testament to our employees’ positive impact and the power of our enduring partnership with business and civic leaders in the Saline Area Chamber Communities of Lodi, Saline, Bridgewater, Pittsfield and York,” said Tony.

Beyond DTE’s operations, the company bolsters community support through partnerships between local organizations and the DTE Foundation.

In 2022, the Foundation donated $15 million to Michigan nonprofits and local organizations like the Saline Fair, the Celtic Festival, Saline Main Street, Summerfest, Saline Area Schools, Saline Area Social Services, and the Saline Holiday Parade.

DTE team members also gave nearly 3,000 hours of their time volunteering with Washtenaw County community partners in 2022.
