DTE crews were in Inkster this week after an auto accident damaged two utility poles. A garbage truck lost control in wintery conditions and broke two poles at the intersection of Yale and Inkster. When an incident like this occurs, our team takes the opportunity to not only replace the poles but upgrade other equipment while doing so. This busy intersection now has two stronger, sturdier poles with new cabling, fuses, connectors and fiberglass cross arms (a more durable option to wooden ones). Thankfully, no one was seriously hurt during this accident, and one positive result came from it: a stronger electrical system for DTE customers who live nearby.
