DTE overhead crews and tree trimmers were working in Rochester Hills earlier this week to respond to some downed power lines that were causing a few outages in the area. A large tree was uprooted and fell onto nearby power lines knocking down the wires. The wires powered five homes in the Avon Manor neighborhood, which left those customers briefly out of power.

First, tree trimmers cleaned up the tree and its branches in order for the overhead crews to proceed with repairing and rewiring the power lines.

You may be seeing more of our crews in the coming months as part of our accelerated electric reliability projects in your area, including more tree trimming and infrastructure updates. All these projects are underway to improve your service and reliability for the short- and long-term.

Make sure to regularly check the Rochester area community page to learn more about what’s going on in your neighborhood. You can also follow DTE’s Facebook and Twitter for even more updates and information.
