Natural Gas Balance (only available to DTE Gas customers)
DTE’s Natural Gas Balance program empowers you to address up to 100% of carbon emissions created from natural gas usage in cooking, cleaning clothes, heating and water heating from an average residential home – without making any changes to your usage. When you enroll in Natural Gas Balance, you are:
- Preserving over 20,000 acres of forests across 13 counties in the Upper Peninsula
- Repurposing gas emitted from household waste at landfills and wastewater treatment facilities that would otherwise pollute the air

MIGreenPower (only available to DTE Electric customers)
Our MIGreenPower program enables you to attribute even more of your electricity use to renewable energy, in addition to the 15% DTE already provides. Joining MIGreenPower helps us build even more wind and solar projects right here in Michigan. These projects generate clean energy for our homes, schools, and businesses while strengthening our state’s economy by providing additional tax revenue for local communities, supporting thousands of local jobs, and supplying extra income for the farmers who participate in our projects.

Starting your electric vehicle journey
Did you know an electric vehicle (EV) driver in Michigan reduces up to 75% emissions annually compared to a driver of a gas-powered vehicle? The energy your EV uses is also produced right here in Michigan, and DTE’s MIGreenPower program can help you power your home and EV with 100% renewable energy. In addition to helping the environment, EVs can also save drivers thousands of dollars on fuel and maintenance costs over the lifetime of the vehicle.
