DTE crews were recently working at the Temple Substation in Detroit, near Park Avenue and Temple Street, installing a new underground cable. This update will improve the electric grid in two ways. First, the new cable is capable of carrying a greater electrical load, improving service reliability. Second, it is safer for the public. This cable will instantly deenergize if it senses contact with a foreign entity. Another step towards a brighter future for Detroiters.

You may see more of our crews in the coming months as part of our accelerated electric reliability projects in your area, including more tree trimming and infrastructure updates. All these projects are underway to improve your service and reliability for the short and long term.

Make sure to regularly check the Detroit – District 6 community page to learn more about what’s going on in your neighborhood. You can also follow DTE on Facebook and Twitter for even more updates and information.
