DTE crews are working in communities throughout Michigan to upgrade the infrastructure that delivers safe, reliable natural gas to customers. As part of a $3.5 billion Gas Renewal Program (GRP), we’re replacing steel and cast iron pipes with more environmentally friendly materials. By the time the work is completed in 2035, it will have reduced methane emissions by an amount equivalent to taking 100,000 cars off the road.

As we replace more than 200 miles of pipe each year, we’re also moving meters outdoors so we can perform maintenance and safety inspections without having to enter homes and businesses.

DTE’s investment in the Gas Renewal Program offers current and future benefits, including:
• Ensures that we can continue to provide the reliable natural gas delivery our customers depend on every day.
• Prepares us to transport new sources of energy as technology advances.
• Reduces leaks and greenhouse gas emissions.
