Our reliability work continued in Detroit this past week where one of our crews was working off Grand River Ave and Alexandrine St. this week performing maintenance work to a circuit that feeds thousands of nearby residents.

The crew made preventative upgrades to the main distribution lines in the area to help minimize the number of outages if any of the electrical equipment was damaged. This type of work also helps keep the public safer in a potential hazardous situation by automatically de-energizing the power line if it were to fall on the ground. Downed power lines are very dangerous so preventative measures like this not only helps DTE provide more reliable power but keeps our communities like Detroit safe in hazardous situations.

You may see more of our crews in the coming months as part of our accelerated electric reliability projects in your area, including more tree trimming and infrastructure updates. All these projects are underway to improve your service and reliability for the short- and long term.

Make sure to regularly check the Detroit District 6 community page to learn more about what’s going on in your neighborhood. You can also follow DTE on Facebook and Twitter for even more updates and information.
