Fund your roads, schools, first responders and more
A DTE renewable energy project can bring your community millions of dollars in additional tax revenue over its lifespan. This funding can be used to support your community’s roads, schools, first responders, or other community needs.
Here’s an example: Gratiot County is home to several of the state’s largest wind projects, and these developments are strengthening the entire county. Since 2012, Gratiot County has received more than $108 million in tax revenue from its wind parks and credits them with attracting more business to the area.

Keep your farm in the family
Landowners who host DTE renewable energy projects receive additional income they can count on. Whether your farm could use extra money to cover expenses, or you just want to make sure you have a secure succession plan for your land, hosting a wind or solar park can help you keep your farm in the family for generations to come. When the project’s lifespan is complete and we restore the land to its original condition, your grandchildren and great-grandchildren will still be able to farm the land.

Strengthen your local economy
Each DTE renewable energy project supports hundreds of jobs during construction, utilizing Michigan-based construction companies and primarily union workers. These workers spend money at your local businesses – like restaurants, hotels and grocery stores – supporting your hometown economy. Once operational, each wind and solar park creates several permanent, full-time jobs. These wind and solar technician jobs often go to people from the community, paying good wages and allowing our new team members to raise their families right where they were raised themselves.

Bring DTE into your community as a force for good
DTE is proud to be an engaged and committed neighbor in every community that welcomes us, working with those hosting our projects to support their individual needs. Our teams are actively involved in local schools, county fairs, veteran events, community clean-ups and other worthy causes. We partner with these communities to help them succeed and value the relationships we develop along the way.
