Hello, Inkster residents! Our crews were in your community this past week installing a new utility pole after a semi-truck driver lost control of his vehicle and crashed into the former pole. The accident destroyed the pole and pulled wires off the adjacent pole across the street which resulted in hundreds of customers losing power on Trolley Industrial Drive.
The DTE crew leader on the scene, Rudy, said the accident happened late Tuesday night and power was restored to all surrounding customers by noon the next day. Thankfully, no one was injured in the accident or in the repairs of the downed pole and lines.
You may see more of our crews in the coming months as part of our accelerated electric reliability projects in your area, including more tree trimming and infrastructure updates. All these projects are underway to improve your service and reliability for the short- and long-term.
