As the Detroit Institute of Arts (DIA) gears up for their upcoming Vincent van Gogh exhibition, DTE crews are working to improve the museum’s electrical reliability. Recently, our crews were at John R Street and Frederick Douglass Avenue to test out newly installed equipment. Along with converting the museum’s power source from Public Lighting Department (PLD) to DTE Energy, our crews installed three new switch cabinets with upgraded cabling to energize the institution. These infrastructure updates will enhance system durability and balance out load distribution, reducing outages and keeping power safely flowing for the DIA.

You may see more of our crews in the coming months as part of our accelerated electric reliability projects in your area, including more tree trimming and infrastructure updates. All these projects are underway to improve your service and reliability for the short and long term.

Make sure to regularly check the Detroit – District 6 community page to learn more about what’s going on in your neighborhood. You can also follow DTE on Facebook and Twitter for even more updates and information.
