DTE crews were on Biltmore Street and Stollman Drive repairing equipment and restoring an Inkster neighborhood’s power after a utility pole caught on fire. Crews performed what is called a “temporary fix” on the pole to reenergize homes as soon as possible. This means that they removed the burnt part of the pole and installed a temporary pole extension in its place. In the near future, our team will return to fully replace the pole and install a new transformer. As the neighborhood’s electric grid gets upgraded, power reliability is improved for all nearby homes and businesses.

You may see more of our crews in the coming months as part of our accelerated electric reliability projects in your area, including more tree trimming and infrastructure updates. All these projects are underway to improve your service and reliability for the short- and long-term.

Make sure to regularly check the Inkster community page to learn more about what’s going on in your neighborhood. You can also follow DTE on Facebook and Twitter for even more updates and information.
