You may have recently noticed overhead crews in Detroit’s Corktown, near West Elizabeth and Brooklyn Streets, assessing a pole for an upcoming crossarm replacement. DTE places a heavy emphasis on upgrading older wooden crossarms with state-of-the-art fiberglass crossarms. What’s the difference? Wood is heavier and wears away over time while fiberglass is lighter and more durable. This is another step towards strengthening our infrastructure and improving electrical reliability for nearby homes and businesses.

Make sure to regularly check the Detroit – District 6 community page to learn more about what’s going on in your neighborhood. You can also follow DTE on Facebook and Twitter for even more updates and information.
