DTE crews are continuing to improve reliability for the Detroit Institute of Arts (DIA) while transferring the museum’s power source from Public Lighting Department (PLD) to DTE. In the past, the DIA was energized by two PLD power sources. Instead of using the existing PLD equipment, our team installed three new primary switch cabinets, giving the DIA one more power source than they had previously with PLD. This means that if there are issues with one circuit, there are two backup sources to help keep electricity running for the museum.
You may see more of our crews in the coming months as part of our accelerated electric reliability projects in your area, including more tree trimming and infrastructure updates. All these projects are underway to improve your service and reliability for the short and long term.
Make sure to regularly check the Detroit – District 6 community page to learn more about what’s going on in your neighborhood. You can also follow DTE on Facebook and Twitter for even more updates and information.
