DTE crews partnered with the city of Farmington to deal with a faulty fire hydrant on Gill Road in front of the Quaker Cemetery. The hydrant was about three feet from a utility pole so our crews made sure the job site was secure by holding up the utility pole with the crane from one of our trucks. This is a common procedure for jobs like this, it’s called a ‘pole hold’ and it ensures the safety of the workers and non-interruption of service for local residents.

You may see more of our crews in the coming months as part of our accelerated electric reliability projects in your area, including more tree trimming and infrastructure updates. All these projects are underway to improve your service and reliability for the short- and long-term.

Make sure to regularly check the Farmington community page to learn more about what’s going on in your neighborhood. You can also follow DTE on Facebook and Twitter for even more updates and information.
