DTE crews work hard to keep your power running but what keeps DTE crews running? Our crews rely on local restaurants to stay fueled and focused on improving reliability in your community. Our crews also support local businesses across our service territory.

One of our crews’ favorite spots to visit in Detroit is Babo – a dining and take-out restaurant presenting an elevated take on classic comfort foods, located in Midtown on Woodward Avenue and East Kirby Street.

Ghansha (pictured above) is a DTE supervisor who has been a regular at Babo for six months now.

“My go-to dish is a Southwest salad with chicken,” he said. “It’s delicious: all the flavors mesh well together and it has fresh vegetables.”

For Babo newcomers, Ghansa recommends ordering the chicken and waffles dipped in spicy aioli with gochujang sauce on the side.

“Hands down the best chicken and waffles you’ll ever have,” he emphasized.

Our team says they visit Babo with confidence, knowing they’ll receive the nourishment they need for a hard day’s work creating a brighter future for Detroiters.

You may see more of our crews in the coming months as part of our accelerated electric reliability projects in your area, including more tree trimming and infrastructure updates. All these projects are underway to improve your service and reliability for the short and long term.

Make sure to regularly check the Detroit – District 6 community page to learn more about what’s going on in your neighborhood. You can also follow DTE on Facebook and Twitter for even more updates and information.
