DTE crews were in Midtown Detroit recently making upgrades to the electric grid. Cable pullers worked in an alley, near Woodward Avenue and West Hancock Street, to install two new underground cables, replacing two older models. This type of work enhances the durability of DTE infrastructure, improving power reliability for Detroiters.
Curious what it’s like to be a DTE cable puller? You can read more about it here.
You may see more of our crews in the coming months as part of our accelerated electric reliability projects in your area, including more tree trimming and infrastructure updates. All these projects are underway to improve your service and reliability for the short and long term.
