DTE crews were recently called to a damaged pole that cracked near the base on Wilcox between Princeton and Shadywood in Plymouth Township. Our crew took the opportunity to upgrade equipment in addition to repairing the pole. The overhead crew held the pole in place with a truck (pictured below) to ensure the safety of the area before a team could get out there to properly repair and upgrade the pole. The old, weathered cross arms were replaced with stronger fiberglass ones (cross arms are the planks that hang parallel to the ground that hold up the wires). New connectors were also installed. This work not only repaired the damage but aims to further strengthen the reliability of the system in this area when inclement weather strikes.

You may see more of our crews in the coming months as part of our accelerated electric reliability projects in your area, including more tree trimming and infrastructure updates. All these projects are underway to improve your service and reliability for the short and long term.
