As we continue to place a heavy emphasis on tree trimming across the West side of Detroit, our tree trimmers were recently dispatched to the Grandmont-Rosedale neighborhood. Our team safely removed overgrown branches in the backyard of a home near Acacia Avenue and Rutland Street. This type of work greatly reduces the chance of power disruptions when inclement weather occurs.
All throughout this year, we have increased our tree trimming efforts dramatically across our service territory as part of a $90 million investment to accelerate tree trimming.
Highlights include:
- Accelerating tree trimming work for communities hardest hit by storms last fall
- Increasing our tree trim workforce by 30%
- Trimming 5,700 miles of trees near power lines — more than the distance from Detroit to Hawaii — in the last year alone
If trees are creating a safety hazard near your home, please report it to DTE here. We prioritize safety concerns based on the severity of the hazard.
