As a part our four-point plan we are focusing on rebuilding older sections of our grid to improve reliability for our customers. Much of this work will take place throughout the city of Detroit.
Recently, a tree fell onto a service wire, damaging the equipment. Upon inspection, crews realized the meter box and the entrance cables needed to be replaced as well. Crews safely and quickly replaced these components to help ensure reliability in the area.
Upgrades like this are essential in providing Detroit residents with dependable energy that can withstand extreme weather. We will continue to rebuild older portions of our grid to improve resiliency and reliability. During this rebuild, there may be strategic opportunities to move wires underground in the Detroit area.
