DTE contractor crews were out in Detroit preparing for our upcoming switch from a 4.8kV to 13.2kV electrical distribution system on certain portions of the DTE grid. In the photo above, you can see the excavation work, as well as sheeting and shoring. The work was completed near Benton and Beaubien Streets, in the Brewster Homes neighborhood, adjacent to Brush Park. This section will eventually connect to a manhole where crews will enter to complete work on the underground system installation. This is one of our many projects aimed at creating a brighter future for Detroiters.
