DTE cable pullers, splicers and line workers were recently dispatched to Detroit’s Fitzgerald neighborhood after an electrical “pothead” failure. What is a pothead? It is an insulated electrical terminal used for transitioning between overhead wiring and underground wiring. Our team worked near Greenlawn and Puritan Avenues, to remove the damaged device and upgrade the system. Crews went underground to pull out an older cable previously connected to the pothead and replaced it with a new one. This work will improve electrical reliability with durable, new equipment.

Make sure to regularly check the Detroit – District 6 community page to learn more about what’s going on in your neighborhood. You can also follow DTE on Facebook and Twitter for even more updates and information.
