We know how much it means to have your lights on, your home comfortable and your family safe — and not just during major storms, but every single day. At DTE Energy, we take this responsibility to heart and never take it for granted. Each day, our dedicated team works hard to provide the reliable power you expect and deserve.

2025: A breakthrough year for electric reliability

In 2025, we reached a significant milestone — it was the most reliable year for DTE customers in nearly two decades. Our customers spent 60% less time without power compared to 2024, building on the 70% improvement from the year before. This meant fewer outages and faster restoration when outages did happen.

What drove these improvements

These achievements weren’t by chance — they’re the result of thoughtful investments in technology, infrastructure and proactive maintenance. Our goal is to prevent service disruptions before they start and to respond as quickly as possible when they do. Here’s what we accomplished in the past year:

  • 29,000 outages prevented by new smart technology that detects and stops problems before they happen.
  • 6,500 miles of trees trimmed to reduce the leading cause of power outages.
  • 90 miles of power lines completely rebuilt and more than 7,700 poles replaced to strengthen neighborhoods across our region.
  • 6 new substations completed to support growing communities and long-term reliability.
  • Faster restoration, using drones and advanced mapping so crews can respond quickly and safely, even in hard-to-reach places.

Building resilience for any weather

Reliable power isn’t optional — it’s essential, and we understand reliability is a responsibility we must deliver every day. That’s why we’re committed to building the grid of the future, to meet your needs today and into the future. Every mile trimmed, every pole replaced, and every smart device installed brings us one step closer to our shared goal: a stronger, more reliable grid for every customer, no matter the weather.
