In our beautiful state, we have endless opportunities to experience art in all its forms. This month there are a lot of fun activities going on from Lake Eerie to Lake Michigan.

Jazz Fest – Detroit – September 2-5, 2022

  • For over 40 years, the Detroit Jazz Festival Foundation has celebrated Detroit’s rich history of jazz music by providing year-round concerts and educational programming, and of course, organizing the world’s largest free jazz festival, featuring world-class talent, over Labor Day weekend.

  • Admission is free!
  • We’ll be there as the recycling sponsor, and we’ll also have our den and EV Garage available to learn more about how EVs work.

Arts Beats & Eats – Royal Oak – September 2-5, 2022

  • Arts, Beats & Eats is Oakland County’s celebration of art, music, food and community that take place in Downtown Royal Oak on Labor Day Weekend. The festival attracts hundreds of thousands for an end-of-summer celebration not to be missed!
  • An overview of the art, musical groups, available food, family-focused activities and more are available on the website.
  • Admission to the festival is $5 before 3pm and $10 after 3pm.
  • We’ll onsite so be sure to say hi!

Art Prize – Grand Rapids – September 15-October 2

  • ArtPrize is an open, independently organized international art competition. It celebrates artists working in all mediums from anywhere in the world and is open to any creative with an artwork to enter and a venue willing to host it. For 18 days, art is exhibited throughout the city in public parks and museums, in galleries and vacant storefronts, in bars and on bridges. ArtPrize awards $450,000 directly to artists, through grants to support their ambitious work and through prizes which the public decides through the ArtPrize website.
