Strong communities are built through partnership—and sometimes the most powerful change begins right at the neighborhood level.
The DTE Foundation is honoring the community partners who help turn our mission into action. Among them is Brilliant Detroit, an organization marking 10 years of Kid Success by strengthening families and children through a model rooted in community voice, trust and collaboration.
Founded in Detroit and shaped by the people it serves, Brilliant Detroit focuses on meeting families where they are—supporting early childhood development, building connections across neighborhoods and advancing intergenerational growth that leads to lasting outcomes. Over the past decade, the organization has grown thoughtfully and intentionally, creating a model born in Detroit that is now informing work across nearby cities and states.
Looking ahead to 2026, Brilliant Detroit is focused on deepening impact—strengthening pre‑K and kindergarten readiness, responding during moments of greatest need and continuing to align with community partners to ensure children and families have the tools they need to thrive.
“For ten years, Brilliant Detroit has been rooted in a simple belief – when families experience love, safety, and connection in their own neighborhoods, children grow, and communities thrive,” said Tarsha Gale, executive director, Brilliant Detroit. “Partners like the DTE Foundation make it possible for us to deepen that work by strengthening early learning, walking alongside parents and caregivers, and building the kind of coordinated support that leads to measurable, lasting change. Together, we’re not just serving families, we’re shaping the future of Michigan’s children, block by block.”
The DTE Foundation is proud to support this work, including funding a partnership at the Brilliant Pontiac Hub with The Center for Success Network (CFSN). Through this collaboration, Brilliant Detroit launched one‑on‑one literacy tutoring in summer 2025 and extended the program through the 2025–2026 school year—expanding access to personalized learning supports for Pontiac families.
