It’s Clean Energy Week here in Michigan and across the country, which means it’s the perfect time to ramp up your sustainability game. At DTE, we’ve made it easy with a variety of programs and resources so customers like you can join us on our journey to a cleaner future.
Take a look at the options below and find what works best for you and your family:
Attribute your energy use to Michigan-made renewable energy
Our MIGreenPower program enables you to attribute even more of your electricity use to Michigan-made wind and solar energy, in addition to the 15% renewable energy we already serve all customers. Joining MIGreenPower immediately reduces your carbon footprint and helps us build more wind and solar parks right here in Michigan. Just this year, we’ve brought three new solar parks online thanks to our MIGreenPower customers!
Balance your carbon footprint and protect Michigan’s forests
Our Natural Gas Balance program is an easy and affordable way to make a lasting impact on Michigan’s environment. DTE Gas customers can balance between 25% to 100% of the emissions created from natural gas use. The program funds sound forest management of over 20,000 acres of forest in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, and the development and use of renewable natural gas, which makes our household waste useful again.
Start your electric vehicle journey
Did you know an electric vehicle (EV) driver in Michigan reduces up to 70% emissions annually compared to a driver of a gas-powered vehicle? In addition to helping the environment, EVs can save drivers thousands of dollars on fuel and maintenance costs over the lifetime of the vehicle. Visit our online resources to compare the costs between EVs and see if you qualify to cash in on a rebate to cover the purchase of a Level 2 EV charger and the cost to install.

Lower your energy costs
Participate in a Demand Response program to save on your electric bill, take advantage of incentives and manage electricity generation costs in times of high energy demand, like during a heat wave. These programs also contribute to our goal of helping Michigan become a cleaner, better place for future generations by reducing greenhouse gas production.
