Royal Oak residents may notice new poles around town, but what they don’t see is what the pole installation process is really like. Here’s a glimpse at the challenges our crews face to keep power flowing reliably to your home when you need it. Many times, they must dig a hole for the pole in a tight space, which was the case for this crew working in the backyard of a home near 12 Mile and Cody Rd. As they dig, they must be aware of everything in the ground, such as a drain tile, and make adjustments as needed. Lastly, they must cut off any tree roots in the way to make sure the pole is properly installed into the ground. Our crew’s attention to detail is what ensures residents you continue to have the power you need, when you need it.
